Open Goods WS 19/20

In the project ‚Open Goods‘, supervised by Alexander Fillies M.A. and completed in February 2020, the aim was to develop chairs on a scale of 1:1 as digitally as possible and to produce prototypes. The dynamic connection of different aspects such as form, function, material, and manufacturing was integratively researched using digital modeling methods and associated digital manufacturing processes. The focus was on two approaches: the possible integration of user data in the context of ‚Open Innovation‘ as a driver of form and function and the craft-inspired approach of comprehensive integration of material properties and behavior as well as possible traditional processing techniques into the digital design, construction, and manufacturing process.
